I am a Scottish nature witch, tarot reader, and lifelong student of folk magic, with over thirty years of experience walking this path. My practice is deeply inspired by the landscapes, folklore, and traditions of Scotland—its rugged hills, sacred wells, ancient forests, and the enduring belief that there is magic to be found in the natural world.

Why Tarot Matters to Scottish Spellcraft

Tarot has been at the heart of my craft from the very beginning. Long before Scottish Spellcraft had a name, there were tarot cards on my table, helping me explore questions, spot patterns, and occasionally giving me that wonderfully uncomfortable “well, you knew that already” moment! Over more than 30 years, tarot has become far more than simply reading cards—it is one of the ways I connect with people, share stories, explore possibilities, and enjoy the wonderfully strange journey that is witchcraft. For me, the cards are woven through both my personal practice and my spellwork, providing inspiration, insight, and a brilliant excuse to sit down with someone, have a chat, and see what the cards have to say. Ultimately, tarot is about connection: connecting with sprit, with intuition, with ourselves, and most importantly for me, connecting with other people.

Scottish Spellcraft was created as a welcoming place for anyone who is curious about tarot, witchcraft, magic, or simply wondering what all the fuss is about. My own approach to witchcraft is grounded in nature, tradition, and plenty of practical experience. I love the old stories and folklore, but I also believe magic should have a place in ordinary modern life — alongside the kettle, the washing, the dog, and everything else that refuses to wait while you're having a mystical moment. For me, witchcraft is about connection: to nature, the changing seasons, the land around us, and to ourselves. Tarot sits right at the heart of that, helping us pause, look at things from a different angle, and sometimes hear the answer we already knew was there.

There are no gatekeepers at Scottish Spellcraft, no secret handshake, and absolutely no requirement to own a cloak. You don't need to know all the rules, have a perfect altar, or be able to name every herb growing in the garden.
